Tickets & formats

Premium-format tickets are already on sale, having gone live alongside the July 20, 2026 trailer. Standard-format on-sale timing typically follows closer to release for most chains.

The IMAX situation

Avengers: Doomsday will not have IMAX screens in the United States for at least its first three weeks - Dune: Part Three, releasing the same day, holds domestic IMAX exclusivity during that window. Internationally, Doomsday is expected to have IMAX in select markets.

Infinity Vision: Disney created a new certification for premium large-format theaters showing Doomsday, guaranteeing a minimum bar for screen size, brightness, and sound. The film is also available in Dolby Vision, ScreenX, D-Box, and 4DX depending on market.

Cinema tickets
Premium-format tickets went on sale with the full trailer; standard tickets usually follow later.

Early box-office signs

Advance premium-format tickets pulled in a reported $16.5 million in their first 24 hours - more than double the pre-sales for Deadpool & Wolverine at the same point, and notably without IMAX in the total. Many of the roughly 1,000 premium screens sold out their December 17 and 18 showings, with theaters adding screenings into Christmas Day. Industry tracking has pointed to Doomsday as a contender for 2026's highest-grossing film, though box-office projections are exactly that - projections. Reported

Disney has also lined up an Avengers: Endgame theatrical re-release with new footage ahead of Doomsday, part of a heavy push behind the December launch.

Streaming or digital release

None has been announced. This is a theatrical release more than four months out at the time of writing, and no digital or streaming date exists yet. We won't speculate on one until Disney confirms it.
